After identifying my career goals, I have been actively working towards them over the past year.
Between July and September 2025, I was fortunate to work on an animated advertisement for a medium-sized financial institution in China. The project combined live-action footage with 2D animation and used a 2D mascot character to introduce the company’s brand identity and values. One of the main challenges was finding a balance between making the financial industry appear more approachable and engaging to younger audiences while still maintaining a sense of professionalism and credibility.
Throughout the project, I gained valuable experience in client communication. I learned how to explain the animation production process to clients who were unfamiliar with it and how to clearly communicate what could and could not be changed at different stages of production. This helped avoid unnecessary revisions and improved the overall efficiency of the workflow. After being published online, the advertisement received over 2,000 views, and the client was very satisfied with the final outcome. As a result, I was invited to continue working with them on the opening sequence for a series of animated videos. This project also gave me my first opportunity to experiment with typography design.
This experience closely aligns with the type of work I hope to pursue in the future, and I believe it will be valuable when applying for jobs in advertising and motion design.
In addition to professional projects, I have also been actively submitting my work to animation festivals and screenings in order to gain exposure and strengthen my portfolio. I submitted my one-minute animation project from last semester to more than fifty animation festivals and screening events. Although it was only selected for one of them, I still see this as an encouraging start. After completing my graduation film, I plan to continue submitting my work to more festivals and hope to achieve better results in the future.

Based on everything I have learned and experienced over the past year, I have also updated my CV to better reflect my current skills, achievements, and career goals.
During the production of my graduation project, I also learned how to use the Duik plug-in in After Effects for character rigging and skeletal animation. Rigging has become a widely used technique in commercial animation and advertising, and I believe that developing this skill will improve my versatility and competitiveness within the industry.
